Guides: H&H titanium wire titanuim nitride finish single foot with Fuji gold cermet stripper and tip top This rod is built as an ultra light creek rod for catching trout in the 0-2 pound range and panfish in close on small strams. The ERN for this rod measured at 2.82. This rod cast a double taper 3-25 line nicely in th 20-30 ft range. If the rod is to be fished in the 30-45 ft range, a Wulff triangle taper 3wt or a weight forward 2 wt might be more appropriate. |

This rod is built on a Batson F662-2-DB blank and has Ray Cover's proprietary internal thread design reel seat. Ray makes all of his reel seat parts and handle parts by hand on his lathe. He also does all of his own hand engraving. The handle and reel seat interlock internally. The reel seat is not merely butted up against the handle like on most rods. The two parts are actually interlocked on the rod blank with the reel seat fitting up into the handle. This helps make the rod a bit more sensitive by not having weak joints in the construction that dampen vibration. The ultra light construction of the handle also adds to the sensitivity of this rod. The handle is constructed with a balsa wood core that has been sealed watertight inside the handle. The balsa core cuts the weight of the handle in half, making for a more responsive rod. |

Field Test Ray took this rod to the stream to field test it on three different occasions. (No rod leaves his shop until it has been tested to make sure it does what it is supposed to.) It performed beautifully on small trout. The fish he was catching were mostly in the 1 -11/2 pound range. He usually drifts subsurface flies in the 16-20 size range in small shallow streams with this type of rod. It is very forgiving on light tippets. Small trout and panfish are extremely fun on this rod. |

Guides: Titanium wire double foot snakes with Titanium Nitride stripper and tip top Alignment markers: Mini jungle cock neck feathers This rod was built as an ultra light creek rod for catching trout in the 0-2 pound range and panfish. When the ERN was measured for this rod it came out at 1/92, assuming throwing a weight forward 1 wt or a Wulff triangle taper 2-2t line with this rod. As it turns out, it throws a double taper 2-wt line beautifully . If your casting stroke is different, the weight forward 2-wt might cast better for you. |

Field Test Also, as mentioned above, all rods are field tested. This rod was field tested twice. It performed beautifully on small trout. the fish caught were mostly in the 1-11/2 pound range and this rod was a blast to catch them with. 7x and 8x tippet was used with small subsurface flies and not a single fish was lost due to a broken tippet
